Waterborne Polyurethane with a Novel Internal Emulsifier Derived from Sunflower Oil

Waterborne Polyurethane with a Novel Internal Emulsifier Derived from Sunflower Oil

In order to prepare waterborne polyurethane, a renewable, green and scalable dihydroxy acid synthesized from sunflower oil was used as a chain extender by Iranian researchers. Poly(1,4-butylene adipate) (PBA) and dihydroxy acid from sunflower oil were used in the synthesis of waterborne polyurethane nanoparticles.

It was shown that these kinds of novel waterborne polyurethane nanoparticles would be extensively efficient and applicable in coatings.
