ECHA, the European Chemicals Agency, has published appendices specific to nanomaterials to the Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment, covering aspects such as human health, the environment. Another addition is a guidance on registration dossiers.
The guidance named “Best practices on how to prepare registration dossiers that cover nanomaterials”, however, does not include a definition of nanomaterials that is legally valid yet. This definition is meant to be codified with appendix VI of a planned nano-specific modification of REACH.
