The purpose of the new laboratory will be to offer formulation guidance, innovative solutions to overcome technical challenges and product performance testing. Furthermore, the new facility will provide the space for our experts to hold technical training sessions and customer seminars on the latest product trends and their applications.
This lab is IMCD’s 12th facility for Coatings & Construction worldwide. Frank Schneider, Business Group Director Coatings & Construction comments: “Since our first steps into the Turkish coatings & construction industry in 2006, we have continuously and successfully expanded our supply and product portfolio. With our new technical centre here in Istanbul, we offer formulation concepts based on the individual requirements of our customers and suppliers, which is in line with our global business philosophy to provide local expertise.”
The laboratory has been fitted with the latest equipment to support the formulation and performance testing of paints, coatings & inks. Jörg Schmitz, Technical Director Coatings & Construction adds: “The paints & coatings industry is changing rapidly, with clear trends towards more customised functionalities and improved economic efficiencies. With these trends driving innovation on the raw material and product side, IMCD’s network of expert formulators can provide the needed support for their successful application. This lab allows IMCD to demonstrate how the right combination of our suppliers’ raw materials can support new developments as we provide solutions for our customers.”
This facility joins IMCD’s existing international network of laboratories for the Coatings & Construction, Personal Care, Lubricants, Home Care and I&I, Food & Nutrition and Pharmaceutical Business Groups. IMCD now runs a total of 43 laboratories across EMEA, Americas and Asia-Pacific.
