WACKER to Showcase Innovative Products at China International Import Expo

WACKER, the Munich-based chemical group, is participating in the second China International Import Expo (CIIE), showcasing the Group’s construction chemicals and their applications in interior decoration, construction and future eco cities. Among them, there are several novel products, such as silicone resins for anti-graffiti and poster release coatings, cyclodextrin complexes for natural antimicrobial solutions, food-contact silicone sealants and additives for enhanced bioplastics. In addition, WACKER is also presenting classical products and technologies, for example, dispersible polymer powder for decorative plasters, polymer modified water-draining concrete and polysilicon for photovoltaics. CIIE takes place in Shanghai, China from November 5 to 10.

Under the motto “Green, Innovation, Durability and Fun”, WACKER is showcasing its construction chemicals and a number of applications at booth C6-01 in hall 6.1 of Lifestyles.

“CIIE demonstrates the Chinese government’s firm support to trade liberalization and economic globalization, as well as its determination of actively opening the market to the world,” says WACKER Executive Board Member Dr. Christian Hartel. “CIIE is an excellent platform to conduct international trade and cooperation. At the first CIIE, dozens of first-tier medias reported on WACKER’s 3D printed gum and silicone 3D printing technologies, which increased our brand awareness and helped our business development. This is also why we decided to join CIIE again this year.”

With health and living standards rising, industrial upgrading accelerating and China’s efforts to protect the environment making considerable progress, the demand for high performance and environmentally-friendly products has been growing rapidly in recent years. “By introducing innovative products and technologies to the Chinese market, WACKER is committed to support the sustainable development of Chinese cities and to help build the eco city of tomorrow.” Paul Lindblad, President of WACKER Greater China, added.

WACKER highlights at CIIE include:

SILRES® BS Silicone Resin for Anti-Graffiti and Poster Release Coatings

Anti-graffiti coatings based on SILRES® BS silicone resins are easy to apply and do not need to be reapplied. Graffiti can be easily removed without any damage to the substrate. The product can be used in indoor and outdoor buildings or hand-painted wall for children. No matter what kind of paint is used, solvent or water-based markers or paints, the graffiti can be easily removed with a normal tissue. In addition, stickers that have been pasted onto walls can easily be removed as well. Thus, silicone based anti-graffiti coatings help to maintain cities clean.

CAVAMAX® Cyclodextrin for Natural Antimicrobial Solutions

Cyclodextrin from WACKER can encapsulate volatile essential oils to reduce their volatility, extends their release over time and improves their stability and solubility in water. For example, use essential oil-cyclodextrin complex to replace chemicals in coating application as a natural biocide or insect repellent. By offering an equivalent level of performance as traditional solutions, this new solution can also provide pleasant sensation experience.

VINNEX® Additives for Enhanced Bioplastics

VINNEX® polyvinyl acetate-based binder system effectively improve biopolymers’ physical properties and processabilities. With VINNEX®, biopolymers can be processed just like standard thermoplastics. Thus, VINNEX® significantly expands the processing and application range of biopolymers. In addition, VINNEX® is compatible with various biopolyesters and maintain their biodegradability.

VINNAPAS® Dispersible Polymer Powder for Decorative Plasters

VINNAPAS® dispersible polymer powder helps to enhance flexural strength, cohesion and adhesion to substrates. The product also improves crack and whiskering resistance, as well reduces water absorption and shrinking percentage of decorative plasters. Therefore, it helps to improve the overall performance of hydrophobic plasters in order to provide durable protection and more natural appearance to buildings.
